Wow ! Where to begin, I thought this summer was jam packed but it couldn’t hold a candle to what went on in the month of August. I started by getting released from my long time church calling (time for a short break) then the Duchess arrived and we were off and running. The Princess and I had been planning and planning. We did let the Duchess rest part of one day then off we went shopping and dinner then to the theatre. Secret Garden has long been a favorite of ours and it was playing at the Hale theatre. The next day we threw a baby shower for the Duchess and JH with lots of great grandmas, aunts, cousins and friends. Thats were we’ll start.
And of course Gnome and friends were in attendance.
We are beginning the celebration of cousins….
The Queen was in attendance and so were the twins. And lots of Great Queen Mothers.

The End of Summer 2007
Some Days are a little too busy.
Well June 30th dawned clear and beautiful, with more going on than a cat dancing on a hot tin roof . The time had come for the Princess P shower and the Queen Mother’s 80th BD celebration. Lets see the good news was the shower wasn’t at my house just the BD celebration. I started giving orders like a drill sergeant (which usually doesn’t go over very well at this house) but previous talks and explanations helped get this day rolling. I put the dogs to work staying under foot at all possible times, told the wasps they were not invited and put the King to work cooking ribs. The night before i had tried to burn the baked beans ( while we attended a rockin concert) so they were at least ready to go, (they did get saved). The drinks where in the fridge and the remaining food was being supplied by helpful party attendees. Since i had so much fun with the slide show of the King in concert i think we will go another hopefully one for the shower and one for the 80th BD celebration. The shower for W was fine and the food was great, homemade eclairs just made my day. W did get some very great things. The Queen Mother loved her BD celebration and i think we almost maxed out the yard. About 30 adults and i think 40 kids, not really more like 20, everyone had a super time and i just got my spinning wheel out and spun for awhile when things got a little overwhelming. Everybody stayed for a long time i’d say that was a successful party. The yard survived and the Queen Mother and the Yarn Queen survived and are now off to the next project. And of course Gnome N Clayture was there to supervise and do taste testing of the food.
Cupcakes of Angel Food
I was browsing through a cupcake cookbook thinking who needs a cook book to make a cupcake. I’m strictly a Betty Crocker kinda gal. It worked with all my kids and I never heard a complaint. They never even requested Duncan Hines. Well i run across Angel Food cupcakes and i get really excited because that is a family favorite. Without reading the fine print, i dash home mix up an angel food mix pour it into the cupcake tins, bake and with high expectancy watch them rise to great hights and then to my dismay they colapsed. Not only did they go flat but i couldn’t pry them out of the tins. Now i was going to have to go back to the cupcake cookbook to see what in the %#@## it said to do to make these guys. Oh they want you to mix a batch from scratch and then only make 9 at a time. Huh! What is this cook book thinking, I have a whole family to treat. Good Grief. When i have removed all the cake mix out of the tins i think we may try another mix in the tins, or maybe i’ll just make an angel food cake and cut it up into pretend cupcakes. I’ll show that stupid cookbook, i can make cupcakes without it….
